A teacher who truly gets the best out of your child.

With 24 years of classroom experience, I don't just "tutor" - I provide professional academic mentoring that helps children find their confidence, master their subjects, and actually enjoy learning.

How I can help your child

Primary & Prep (Yr 4-8)

Specialising in Years 4 to 8, I help bridge gaps, support SATs, and manage school transitions. I am also very happy to discuss younger or older pupils for generalist support.

Learning Support

As a qualified SpLD specialist, I ensure that different learning styles are accommodated. I don't use labels as an excuse; I use them to find the right way to help your child thrive.

TEFL & Language

Expert support for students mastering English as an additional language, helping them gain the fluency and academic confidence needed for the UK curriculum.

Academic 'Topping Up'

Sometimes a child just needs more time to consolidate what they learn in the classroom. I provide the extra practice and clarity needed to turn 'I don't get it' into 'I've got it'.

Entrance Preparation

Preparation for entrance assessments that goes beyond just test papers. I help build the deep understanding and exam-room resilience required for senior school entry.

Confidence Building

For children who have lost their academic spark, I use my experience to re-engage them, building the self-belief that naturally leads to better performance.

My background & ethos

I have spent 24 years in the classroom, working at some of the country’s most prestigious independent prep schools as well as in the state sector. I am fully qualified, hold a Level 5 SpLD diploma, and a TEFL qualification.

My career began as a PE and sports specialist, and that experience defines who I am as a teacher. I learned early on that you cannot 'force' a child to learn; you have to unlock their motivation. Whether I’m teaching maths, English, or preparing a child for their next school, my goal is always the same: to find that 'click' where the child suddenly realises they are capable of much more than they thought.

I am not a fan of 'one-size-fits-all'. I am a firm believer in the power of being a jack-of-all-trades. I am just as happy working with a child who needs a bit of extra help to catch up as I am stretching someone who is already thriving. I have a long history of cracking tough nuts and finding the way into a child's confidence, no matter their previous academic history.

Taking enquiries now

I am currently registering interest for Summer 2026 onwards. Sessions take place at my dedicated space in Andover, though I am always happy to chat about alternatives.

If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please send me an email.
